Hello, this is me
Hi, I’m Maya, founder and trainer of Gone to the Dogs. I started this journey with a deep love for dogs and a commitment to understanding what truly drives their behavior. Trained in Dog Psychology, I focus on building lasting connections between dogs and their owners by working on the root causes of behavioral issues. My approach blends structured leadership and meaningful communication, creating a path to real, lasting changes in behavior.
With over five years of experience, I offer tailored services, from one-on-one training to structured pack walks and in-home boarding, to support you and your dog every step of the way. Whether you’re building a foundation with a new puppy or strengthening your bond with a long-time friend, my goal is to empower you to be a calm, confident leader.
Dogs have always held a special place in my heart, and in 2018, I turned that passion into my career. I left my office job and began as a dog walker, immersing myself in the world of dog behavior. Driven by a commitment to both personal and professional growth, I strive to be the best version of myself in everything I do. In May 2022, I took a pivotal step by attending Training Cesar’s Way, where I deepened my understanding of Dog Psychology and behavior. This transformative experience not only refined my training approach but also set me on the path to becoming the trainer I am today.

Professional development is a core value, and I regularly collaborate with experts in the field, always seeking to expand my knowledge and refine my skills. When I’m not leading a pack walk or working with a client, you’ll likely find me spending time with my partner and our four dogs or working on our farm—caring for our chickens, pigs, cows and goats, and always dreaming up our next project.
